Paul and Stuart were fantastic hosts. They catered to our every need and were very knowledgeable of the area and what their guests might like to do. It rained the two days we were there but it didn\'t stop our great time one bit. Having wine and cheese to come home to in the evening was a real treat too. Would recommend this to most people I know!
We stayed 3 days would have stayed longer if there was room. We were made feel at home from the very first moment of arrival by Paul & Stuart. Nice room, amazing breakfast. Hope to return soon, but next time for longer. One of the best places we have stayed at.
For some one who is a coeliac (Gluten intolerance) I can not reccomend a better place; the meals we had were a treat, and well priced too.
Suffice to say, we shall be returning, though hopefully, next time for a little longer.
Only stayed one night, but was well worth it! The hosts were very gracious and pulled out all the stops to make our stay extra special. Will definitely stay again!
Paul and Stuart are wonderful hosts, so friendly, caring and professional. Ty Rosa is a rare gem and has the exceptional quality of being the perfect balance between the cosy warmth of home and the luxury of a hotel.
The food is outstanding and good value for money and the decor is gorgeous, it is a real treat to be there.
I love this place. I hadn't stayed for a while because work had not taken me that way for a while, but its great, it was so good to go back and from the moment we walked in, it was as lovely as before. Paul and Stuart think of everything, are friendly and couldn't be more helpful, I'd totally recommend this place for a bushiness traveller or for the weekend, I will be going back again.
Our hosts were super and nothing was too much trouble.
The breakfasts were very agreeable and the bedrooms were comfy and cosy.
It may be a little further out of the town centre for some, but it's walkable and there's a super bus service.
Had a great stay at Ty Rosa, our hosts were flexible enough to have us stay for one night only-which is all we could stay for, should stay for 2 nights normally. The breakfast was as good as all the reviews say it is, and had a good hot menu selection. Our room was great, had sky, bottled water aswell as teas/coffees and bathroom toilettries- very handy! I was also glad we booked somewhere where we could come back any time as we had been to a wedding at the bay- which was also only a couple of minutes taxi ride away, ideal for what we needed.
This place is well located just a short walk from all the nightlife of wonderful Cardiff. The staff are great hosts and made our first time visit to Cardiff very memorable. AMAZING breakfast. Good comfy rooms.
The hosts went out of their way to be helpful. That, and the outstanding breakfast, were the highlights of our stay.
On the downside, we stayed in the annex, in a tiny room without ensuite facilities. It was really not suitable for more than one person. The location was only so-so, being a fair distance from the city center and not in the nicest neighborhood.
We did not see any of the rooms in the main building, so cannot comment on them. But other guests seemed very content with their rooms, so we suggest making a reservation for the main house rather than for the annex if you decide to stay here.
The ty rosa is a lovely place to stay very clean and tidy nice and modern the breakfast is excellent so much choice very tasty especially the cheese and mushroom omlette delish. Thanks paul stuart and staff for a very comfortable stay We will be back soon.
A place one should always have the address handy. Very warm and friendly owners (without forgetting Max the Dog). Free WiFi which always comes handy. The best bit is Breakfast and I cannot recommend enough the laver bread. Place also serves excellent dinner too.
This was more like staying in a private house than a B&B. The attention to detail was astounding and the evening meal superb. the only downside was no ensuite facilities in my room - a fault of the building not the hosts. I will definitely come again.
One of the best breakfasts ever eaten - good service and comfortable stay very good value will look forward to the purchase of next door - good luck to the guys who are providing an excellent service at a better rate than some of the chain hotels
Not quite in the centre, but it's not London or New York, so you can easily walk or take the bus that stops just a few steps from your door.
To some it may seem just a little over-priced, but as soon as you are being served your breakfast, you'll know you made no mistake and actually got a serious bargain. Just the breakfast alone is at least a Ł10-15 value, and it's simply delicious.
Also, they have WiFi that actually works in your room and not just the lobby.
TV and DVD player in the room, a huge selection of DVDs, dinner service available at really low cost, great help and advice from both hosts, perfectly clean bathrooms, tastefully decorated rooms, just perfect all around.
A rare find - a B&B where the owners understand the needs of coeliacs and have in store bread and muffins, as well as offering gluten-free choices for dinner. I was delighted too that they cooked for me when I arrived after their advertised finishing time, a tasty Thai curry. Friendly, very helpful about local travel and places, thoughtful about details that make a stay comfortable. Highly recommended.

We had a great time here and the owners were a pleasure to talk to. Nice rooms and a wonderful breakfast. We will gladly return the next time we're in Cardiff.

I travel a lot on business, and therefore my views on hotels and B&B's are somewhat jaundiced . So for me to look forward to returning to a hotel or B&B is rare.
Ty Rosa was a joy to stay in and is one of the most friendly and relaxing places I've stayed. It is clean and very well presented, and the bed was very comfortable.
To be offered coffee immediately on arrival, and then to be able to have an evening meal with wine was wonderful.
Cardiff isn't really very car friendly, and so it was great to find that Ty Rosa has free street parking and is a short (15 mins) walk from the centre of Cardiff
I can't think of a single criticism, and when I return to Cardiff, Ty Rosa will be my first choice for accommodation regardless of price.
A warm friendly clean B and B with excellent service and the best breakfast. I liked the Welsh specialities on the menu-you knew you were in Wales not just a bland anywhere hotel. I enjoyed meeting other guests and the 'sofa corner' provides a great space if you want to do this, but its not forced. If you want an evening meal the choice is there (and lovely food) and the beutiful Max is also around with a friendly face. Stuart and Paul are fantastic hosts-I would totally recommend this B and B
Ty Rosa is a walkable distance from Grangetown rail station (~0.25 mi/400 m). Paul and Stuart make you feel at home as soon as you open the door, and their super-friendly black lab Max greets you with wagging tail. The rooms are comfortable with a lot more character than a chain hotel, and en suites are equipped with loo - of course -, sink and shower and Dove product enmities. You can borrow a DVD from their collection in the living room in exchange for a donation to a piggy-bank that goes to charity. Food is tremendous and uses local products.
I highly recommend Ty Rosa to all people - lesbian, gay or straight. Even told my 82 year old aunt that she must stay there to be well looked after when she goes to Cardiff!
Very enjoyable stay. As soon as we arrived we were made to feel very welcome. The food and service were excellent. Paul and Stuart were fantastic hosts. Will definately be coming back for another visit.
Having stayed here in March alone, and having been well looked after and catered for, when I knew I needed to return to Cardiff, there was only one place to stay. The rooms are immaculate, the hosts are charming and the evening meals and breakfasts are fairly priced, excellent home cooked grub!! Highly recommended - even my hubby was impressed!!
The friendly welcome and helpful information can not be faulted, the same can be said about the wonderful breakfast. The rather cramped on-suite with it's mechanical, noisey toilet and the problem with the electric circuit not able to cope with the heater and kettle at the same time without tripping the fuse were less pleasurable. A little warning and instruction on solutions would be the only improvements.
I stayed the night at Ty Rosa for a meal they hosted for a group of transvestites we had a great three course meal and we relaxaed for the rest of the eveing. In the morning I had a nice choce of things for breakfast. over all it is a brilliant place to stay with good clean bedrooms and bath rooms and run by a fun couple who make you very welcome,

This was our second stay at Ty Rosa, and hopefully not our last. Paul, Stuart and Max always make us feel welcome and at home. The B&B isn't located in the prettiest of areas, but it's very conveniently located in between the Bay area and the city center, which makes it easy to walk to both areas.
Rooms are very clean with comfortable beds.
The gourmet breakfast in the morning is amazing!
Our stay at the Ty Rosa was delightful! The rooms (and the whole house) are very tastefully decorated. Ours was a bit small but as the breakfast/living room is very cosy that was no problem at all. The delicious breakfast (the term 'gourmet breakfast' is no exaggeration) makes getting up easy and the timeframe is very pleasant for late risers like myself. :)
I found the location very convenient as it is halfway between the bay and the city centre and there's a bus stop right in front of the house. Stuart and Paul are lovely guys, very helpful and make you feel at home the instant you walk over the threshold.
A true recommendation!
A very relaxing and cosy B&B with wonderful hosts! Felt like home! We\'ll surely go back.
Nice & clean room, delicious breakfast, ... all you need to discover Cardiff!
we have stayed twice now at the Ty Rosa, and will be staying many more times.
We had the Evening Meal in Sept 08,and it was Delicious & Very Good Value for Money.
The Room although Small was Perfect with Quality Toiletries, and very Clean.
It is outside the Town Centre, but there is a Bus Stop Directly out of the Front Door,we walked into Town & to the Bay.
The Boys are Fantasic Hosts,it was like Visiting Friends, very Welcoming.
Last but not least...The Breakfast..it is The Best Breckie weve ever had in a B&B.
The Ty Rosa is well worth a Visit & Cardiff is an Amazing City.

Paul and Steward made us you feel at home. The breakfasts were mouth watering, really gourmet food.
We stayed three nights and we definitely would recommend the Ty Rosa to anyone wanting to stay in a reasonably priced B&B in Cardiff for a few days.
The only negative point was that some of the dwellings in the same road were slightly run down but the Ty Rosa location is within easy reach of the City center and Cardiff Bay. It was certainly Value for Money.
Enjoyed our stay at Ty Rosa, though it was a little out of the way. We stayed in the Castle Coch room and it was good that my husband and I don't mind being close! Really best for one person. Also could have used a fan because the room was hot, but too noisy and bright with the window and blinds open. Breakfast was outstanding and was the highlight of our stay.
Our second stay at Ty Rosa. I so wish I\'d known about this place years ago - I would never have stayed anywhere else in Cardiff. Paul and Stuart are lovely hosts and Max is a welcoming and friendly presence. The breakfast was sensational and we were comfortable and happy in our cosy room. Eleven out of ten!
Paul and Stewart are fabulous hosts the rooms are all great really nicely decorated and kept very clean, the breakfast menu is always great (Especiallythe pankakes!) You are made to feel very welcome, it's like staying with two really good friends. It's only a short walk into cardiff itself so it's location is good too. And Max the dog is cute too! I would recommened staying with Paul and Stewart whole heartedly, you won't regret it. and if you love shopping in IKEA it's just around the corner!
Several things make this B&B stand out from the crowd: the friendly owners who are always willing to help, the nicely-finished rooms, the excellent food and the comfortable lounge area. It may be a B&B but the evening meals are very welcome if you've been working and don't fancy a trek out to a restaurant.
Location is a little out of the way for the centre but cut across to the river and the Taff Trail makes a great walk leading straight to the castle.
We had a great time in Cardiff thanks to Ty Rosa. The house was lovely, comfortable and nicely decorated. They have an extensive breakfast menu and very delicious food (accommodating to different tastes and dietary restrictions). And their dog Max is a great bonus for animal-starved travelers...
We had a brilliant stay, have never been made to feel so at home at a hotel/B&B. The breakfasts were amazing and the rooms were decorated sooo nicely! They really do make EVERYONE feel welcome will be recommending it to all my friends and family!!
My daughter & I spend 2 nights at Ty Rosa at the beginning of a 6 country trip across Europe. At the end of our travels we both agree Ty Rosa was the clear winner of ALL the places we stayed. Paul & Stuart are a wonderful couple, so welcoming & helpful. The offer of tea upon arrival was sooo gratefully accepted, the meals they serve are amazing. They are so willing to offer assistance in every way; providing directions & suggestions for sights to see, restaurants, shopping tips, giving us a ride when we were all heading to the Bay, offering to have us go to the theatre with them....very much like visiting friends would be. Max is adorable!
We stayed in Harlech Castle, lovely room, very nicely decorated, very cosy, my daughter loved it.
Either of us would definitely stay again and would highly recommendTy Rosa to all for the lovely accomodations, warm atmosphere, and the amazingly good food!
My husband and myself stayed here when attending my cousin's wedding. The room was really clean and comfortable, the hosts fun and helpful and the food excellent. We had a wonderful warm welcome and will definitely stay again next time we go to Cardiff.
Ty Rosa is just lovely, and Paul and Stuart are immaculate hosts - very friendly, welcoming and genuine. The food is delicious and plentiful and the lounge and bedrooms are beautiful in a way that is just not possible if you have kids at home! It has a relaxed and sociable atmosphere, and seems to attract some nce people. It ranks amongst the very best in hospitality in Wales, which leads me to somewhat of a dilemma - it\'s a place that everyone should know about, but if that happens there might not be room for me next time I want to stay there! Curses...
It is a rare thing to feel instantly at home in a hotel on your first visit, but that was what Paul & Stuart managed to achieve with apparent effortlessness.
The bedrooms are furnished and equipped to a very high standard that any 4* hotel would be proud of. The lounge is comfortable and well equipped with books, music etc.
Nothing is too much trouble for your hosts who do all they can to ensure your stay is totally enjoyable, Breakfast is amazing; the variety, choice, presention and quality are all outstanding.
Make sure you eat in at night at least once during your stay - Gourmet cuisine for fast-food prices! Watch out for the large portions though!
Location is convenient for both Cardiff Bay and the City Centre, with the gay scene just a couple of minutes by taxi or bus. Parking on road is easy.
I have stayed twice and am booked in again for a further 15 nights stay. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in the Cardiff area, which I guess says it all!
An excellent guest house.A more friendly atmosphere could be hard to find.Very comfortable rooms, superb breakfastGreat location,5 mins in taxi fron city centre,15/20 mins walk, bus stop directly outside. Well priced wine and dinner menu. A must for single/couple/gay/st8.I have stayed their several times, and would never think of staying elsewhere.
I stayed in Ty Rosa just the one night. I arrived later than I had anticipated due to unforeseen delays and, on my arrival, Paul was extremely welcoming, friendly and helpful. I also needed some advice on restaurants and the scene in Cardiff; needless to say, Paul was more than generous with the information he gave me.
My room - the attic- was very comfortable -with a king bed all to myself- and very tastefully decorated. It had a romantic feel about it and had all the facilities anyone might need (unless you are into sadomasochism; there were no whips or handcuffs to be seen... but I suspect Paul and Stuart would be happy to supply those, if requested in advance)... :-)
The next day breakfast and the service were simply gorgeous. I\'m not -normally- the kind of person who eats a lot in the mornings. Well, had you seen me that day you would have thought I\'m a greedy bastard... Stuart is a professional cook and you can tell: both the quality of the food and its presentation were impeccable. I\'m sure that whatever anyone chooses from the extensive and original menu, the food will always be mouthwatering.
Paul and Stuart are a lovely couple... and I envy them (in a healthy way). They have been romantically involved for a few years now; also, they are in business together. Although it is often said romance and business do not go well together, I must admit that Paul and Stuart are a rare and honourable exception. Once you meet them, you\'ll realise they are perfectly suited for each other. They have interesting plans for the future and I do wish everything goes well with them.
Ty Rosa is definitely the accommodation to choose in Cardiff. It has it all: good atmosphere; nice, comfortable accommodation and facilities (no instruments of torture, though…) and excellent food. Paul and Stuart are lovely and have a great sense of humour... and you can experience all that at reasonable prices. It really doesn\'t get much better than this.
