As much as I love and trust Thomson, this place was awful. The views are indeed great if you are willing to pay 200 pounds extra to enjoy them. (Like a mug I was willing). However this is where the greatness ends and reality starts. The staff are for the most part rude and unfriendly. The owner totters about like some senile old don interfering with everything and clearly aggravating the already touchy and thin on the ground staff. Apparently the entire crew was sacked last year by the new forward thinking manager in late 2007. Well mate, heres a little advice, save yourself a whole season of grief and start handing out the P45s right now. He is as miserable as sin too and struts around with his face tripping him the whole time. The only time any of them seemed to cheer up was when they had Italians arrive. The worst part of the experience without doubt is the food. Often stone cold and with items missing from the plate with not a word of explanation or apology. THEY SERVE SMASH INSTEAD OF REAL MASH........ NO I\'M NOT KIDDING. The faces of some of the guests were an absolute joy as they attempted to tuck into this crud. The restaurant staff renumber the tables on a regular basis without telling anyone (a bit like Mussolini used to do with the train timetables) and then get the hump when you walk in looking totally lost. Please take my advice and pay for your drinks on a nightly basis right after your Meal This aggravates the hell out of them but you will avoid the attempted bill fiddle right at the end of your stay just when you think it couldn\'t get any worse. They tried to extort eleven euros from me and the nice couple in room 216 just as we handed in our keys for the final time for drinks the previous evening. I could hardly contain my joy at telling the arrogate twat of a manager that we\'d all eaten out together at a restaurant in Town on the night in question. GUTTED....ha ha. I would have been quite happy to front it out to the bitter end and so were my compatriots even if machine gun toting Carbinieri had stormed in to drag us off. Avoid this place. You have been warned. |
